I was born and raised in Poland and moved to the United States at the age of fifteen. I graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a degree in Early Childhood Education with a focus on Reggio Emilia approach. I had an amazing opportunity to go to Italy and participate in Reggio Children International to learn more about the approach and visit the schools. Soon after graduating, I moved to San Diego where my teaching career started in the spring of 2013 at a small private play based preschool. After two years there, I joined San Diego Cooperative Preschool as a lead teacher in the 2-3 year olds classroom.
I am passionate about children and teaching. My priority is to create a safe, nurturing environment where children can grow, evolve and have fun! I believe that children are naturally curious explorers and I do my best to follow their lead and provide them with activities and experiences that match their interests. Children bring me joy and I am grateful to be a part of the SDCP community. “ Nothing without joy” is my favorite quote from Loris Malaguzzi and I try to bring that approach to teaching every day, be it following the children’s interests or bringing my own, such as yoga, into the classroom on a daily basis. I really enjoy one on one moments with each child, as well as sharing magical moments with a group of children.
